About the role
The Commis I (Butcher) supports the hotel kitchen by preparing special meals, managing temperature controls, and ensuring food quality and presentation. This position works closely with the Chef and service staff to deliver consistent, high‑standard dishes.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare special meals or substitute items according to recipes.
- Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters.
- Pull frozen items to thaw in refrigeration and maintain proper storage.
- Ensure correct portioning, arrangement, and garnish of dishes.
- Maintain food logs and monitor food quality and quantity.
- Communicate assistance needs during busy periods.
- Inform the Chef of excess items for daily specials.
- Notify Food & Beverage staff of menu specials and out‑of‑stock items.
- Prepare and cook foods, including cold items, following quality and presentation standards.
Required profile
- Technical, trade or vocational school degree.
- At least 3 years of related kitchen or butchery experience.
- No prior supervisory experience required.
