Commis I – Hot Section (Kitchen)

About the role

We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Kitchen Commis I to join our Hot Section at Towers Rotana in Dubai. You will support the culinary team in delivering exceptional food quality and service to our guests.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Chef de Partie or Demi Chef de Partie in daily kitchen operations.
• Prepare food according to menu specifications set by the Chef de Partie.
• Maintain a hygienic work area in line with hotel standards.
• Control food stock and manage food costs within your section.
• Prepare daily mise‑en‑place and produce food across main kitchen and satellite stations.
• Follow instructions from superiors to complete daily tasks efficiently.
• Ensure consistent quality and stay updated on new products, recipes, and preparation techniques.
• Coordinate with other sections on cleanliness, waste reduction, and cost control.

Required profile

• Completed professional kitchen apprenticeship or chef training course.
• Previous experience in reputable establishments with strong culinary skills.
• Fluent English communication skills.
• Proven knowledge of food preparation, presentation, and preservation.
• Positive, dynamic, creative, and dedicated team player.
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment and under pressure.
• Competencies: understanding the job, taking responsibility, recognizing differences, customer focus, adaptability, teamwork.
