Commis II – Butcher

About the role

We're looking for a detail‑oriented and efficient Commis II – Butcher to join our culinary team at Sofitel Al Hamra Beach Resort in Ras Al‑Khaimah, United Arab Emirates. You will work in a fast‑paced food‑preparation environment, using your butchering expertise to produce high‑quality meat products that meet our rigorous standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and portion meat products using proper butchering techniques and industry‑standard tools.
• Execute precise cuts according to specifications and customer requirements.
• Maintain strict food‑safety and hygiene protocols in line with UAE regulations.
• Organise and keep the butchery station clean, sanitized and properly stocked.
• Monitor meat quality and freshness, reporting any issues to supervisors.
• Assist with inventory management by tracking stock levels and communicating replenishment needs.
• Support senior butchers and chefs in daily food‑preparation tasks.

Required profile

• 1–2 years proven experience in a butchery, meat‑preparation or food‑service role.
• Strong knowledge of meat cuts, grades and butchering techniques.
• Food‑safety and hygiene certification or willingness to obtain one.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain consistent quality.
• Physical stamina to work standing for extended periods.

Required skills

• Proficiency with butchering tools and knives, including advanced knife skills.
• Understanding of food‑safety regulations and best practices.
