Commissioning Manager – Oil & Gas

About the role

The Manager Commissioning leads a team of engineers and specialists responsible for the commissioning and start‑up of oil and gas projects. Reporting to the Project Manager/Director and VP/Director Engineering, the role ensures delivery of technical execution, resource planning and compliance with McDermott policies.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a homogeneous team, adapting plans and priorities to meet production and operational challenges.
• Assign staffing, oversee administrative and technical management of the Commissioning department, and maintain the MPS system.
• Coordinate work across disciplines, fabrication, construction and client representatives to meet project requirements.
• Identify performance gaps, lead improvement initiatives and ensure timely completion of mandatory training.
• Support recruitment, conduct performance appraisals and develop career opportunities for high‑potential staff.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering with 15+ years of oil and gas commissioning experience.
• Proven leadership on at least three major oil, gas or chemical process projects.
• Strong communication and presentation skills in English.
