Communications Intern - Knowledge Project, Dubai

About the role

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is looking for a Communications Intern to support the Knowledge Project in Dubai, UAE. The Knowledge Project is a joint initiative of UNDP's Regional Bureau for Arab States and the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation, aiming to promote knowledge societies and policies for sustainable development. The intern works in person at the Dubai office.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, schedule and publish bilingual English and Arabic content, and contribute to editorial and content calendars.
• Assist in producing the project newsletter and draft English and Arabic social media copy in line with brand guidelines.
• Create multimedia content such as graphics, carousels, videos and reels, and support event live coverage.
• Manage social media platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, X, YouTube) and upload, publish and update content on the Knowledge4All portal and mobile app via the CMS.
• Monitor online media coverage, social media channels and user feedback, and help with web and social media analytics and performance reporting.
• Maintain digital asset archives and assist with translating content between Arabic and English.

Required profile

• Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal and collaborative skills, and attention to detail.
• Interest or experience in social media, digital communications and content creation.
• Ability to adapt content for different audiences and platforms, and to manage several tasks and meet deadlines.
• Interest in the development field and the Arab States region.

Required skills

• Familiarity with social media platforms and content creation tools, including Canva and video editing software.
• Good research and information-gathering skills.
