Construction Manager / Construction Project Manager

About the role

An experienced and results-driven Construction Manager / Construction Project Manager is sought to lead and oversee construction projects from initial planning through execution and final handover. The role covers managing project schedules, budgets, resources, contractors and site operations so that projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and in line with approved designs, technical specifications and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, manage and oversee all phases of construction projects, from pre-construction to completion.
• Develop project schedules, budgets, resource allocation plans and construction strategies.
• Lead and coordinate site engineers, supervisors, contractors, subcontractors and construction teams.
• Review engineering drawings, architectural plans, technical specifications and construction documentation.
• Monitor progress, costs, productivity and performance against targets, and ensure compliance with designs, standards, quality and safety procedures.
• Manage procurement, material deliveries, equipment, manpower and subcontractor performance.
• Identify risks, resolve technical and operational issues and implement corrective actions.
• Conduct site inspections, progress meetings, quality checks and performance reviews.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, architects, engineers, suppliers and other stakeholders.
• Oversee contract administration, variation orders, claims and project documentation.
• Oversee testing, commissioning, defect rectification and final handover.
• Prepare progress reports, budget updates and performance presentations for senior management, and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Building Engineering or a related discipline.
• Extensive experience in construction management, project management or site operations, with a proven track record delivering projects from planning to completion.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, engineering drawings, project planning, contract administration and cost control.
• Experience managing budgets, schedules, procurement, contractors and subcontractors.
• Good understanding of quality management, occupational health and safety and risk management.
• Professional qualifications or certifications in project management or engineering are an advantage.

• Proficiency in project management software, scheduling tools and Microsoft Office applications.
• Leadership, negotiation, coordination and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple project activities under tight deadlines, with strong communication and reporting.
