Construction Subcontracting Manager

About the role

Kanadevia Inova, a global player in waste infrastructure and waste-to-X technology, is hiring a Construction Subcontracting Manager in Dubai. The role supports the subcontracting and sourcing strategy for Waste to X plants and renewable gas, builds a local supplier and contractor network and leads commercial negotiations and administration of construction lots.

Key responsibilities

• Support the subcontracting and sourcing strategy for Waste to X plants and renewable gas, including market research analysis.
• Develop a local network of suppliers and contractors for construction lots, site lots and framework agreements, and promote the company as the partner of choice.
• Take part in selecting the best source and contractor through an internal e-database or similar tool.
• Prepare and follow up the PEPP (Project Engineering Procurement Plan) for subcontract execution.
• Prepare and issue RFQs for installation and site procurement lots, analyse offers, review subcontract proposals, perform cost and price analysis, and lead negotiations.
• Prepare the commercial part of the subcontract, including Minutes of Negotiation and commercial clarifications.
• Administer site and installation lots commercially, including cost forecasts and purchase order follow-up.
• Work with the local C&C tender manager on market screening and subcontractors, and help develop procedures and process improvements.
• Support the department's objectives, cooperate with the Construction ME tendering team, and act as deputy for the Director M&E Tendering Subcontracting and PCM on contracting issues.
• Support startup and live sites in the branch region for local procurement, contracting and emergency orders.

Required profile

• Ideally technical education with commercial and market experience (procurement, commercial department) from a technical industry such as power, industry or renewable gas.
• Proven commercial experience and project management experience.
• Very good commercial and administrative skills from an international technical environment, with strong product and market knowledge.
• Cooperative, proactive and honest approach, able to work under limited supervision and solve problems.
• Ideally multilingual, with good English and French as an advantage.

Required skills

• Sourcing, bidding and category management.
• Knowledge of IFS, SAP (or another ERP) and e-procurement solutions.
• Understanding of Swiss and Anglo-Saxon supply contract law and QA processes for supply markets.
