Consultant - Air Quality & Environment Advisory

About the role

The consultant will support delivery of air quality management projects for the Environment Agency in Abu Dhabi, providing technical input, stakeholder engagement, training and client liaison. Working closely with UK and Middle East offices, the role involves modelling policy impacts, analysing data and contributing to business development in the region.

Key responsibilities

• Perform advanced air quality modelling and develop policy scenario analyses.
• Interpret technical data and prepare high‑quality technical reports.
• Manage project timelines and budgets, ensuring delivery to client expectations.
• Deliver training sessions and stakeholder engagement events.
• Build and maintain client relationships, supporting business development and proposal writing.
• Collaborate with colleagues across UK and Middle East offices to deliver integrated solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s (2.1 or above), Master’s or PhD in a scientific discipline.
• Experience working with the Environment Agency in Abu Dhabi.
• Understanding of international air quality policies and UAE regulations.
• Knowledge of air quality modelling techniques at various scales.
• Ability to interact with policymakers and produce professional English reports.

Required skills

• Air quality modelling tools and techniques.
• Geographic Information Systems (ArcGIS, QGIS).
• Data processing using R.
• Eulerian models such as CMAQ and WRF‑Chem.
