Consultant Asset Management – Power Grids

About the role

DNV is seeking a Consultant in Asset Management for Power Grids to join its Energy Systems consulting team. You will work directly with customers to optimise the performance and reliability of their electrical assets, providing expert advice and practical solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Execute asset management projects across the energy sector, acting as a trusted advisor.
• Analyse customer assets and recommend strategies to improve performance and align with business objectives.
• Support customers in resolving asset‑related issues and determining root causes of failures.
• Conduct field‑based condition assessments of transformers, cables, switchgear, and related equipment.
• Utilise online condition monitoring tools such as partial discharge testing and infrared scanning.
• Interpret test results, prepare technical reports, and deliver high‑quality documentation.

Required profile

• Electrical or power‑system engineering background.
• Strong knowledge of electricity generation, transmission and distribution (T&D) network operation and maintenance.
• Understanding of protection systems and business processes related to asset management in utilities.
• Excellent analytical and technical writing abilities.

Required skills

• Asset condition assessment techniques.
• Partial discharge testing.
• Infrared scanning.
• Use of online condition monitoring tools.
• Familiarity with transformers, cables, and switchgear.
• Knowledge of T&D network operation and protection systems.
