Consultant Critical Care Medicine (Cardiac, Neurocritical & Trauma)

About the role

The Consultant Physician will provide senior, evidence‑based care in critical care medicine, covering cardiac, neurocritical and trauma patients. This position involves leading clinical teams, supervising junior staff and ensuring compliance with Department of Health regulations in Abu Dhabi.

Key responsibilities

• Lead delivery of high‑quality, evidence‑based care across the critical care specialty.
• Conduct patient examinations, order and interpret diagnostics, prescribe treatments and manage inpatient and outpatient cases.
• Supervise and train junior medical staff, including specialists, GPs and residents.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and participate in multi‑disciplinary meetings.
• Provide on‑call coverage on a rotational basis, including evenings, nights, weekends and public holidays.
• Document clinical information accurately and comply with hospital, departmental and DOH policies.
• Participate in clinical audits, peer review and risk management initiatives.
• Communicate with patients and families, ensuring informed consent for procedures.

Required profile

• MBBS or equivalent with a structured specialty training program (Board Certification, Fellowship, or Royal College).
• 3‑7 years post‑specialty clinical experience in a multidisciplinary setting.
• Valid DOH license for Abu Dhabi, including primary source verification and exam completion where required.
• Fluency in English and Arabic; additional languages are an asset.
