Consultant Emergency Medicine Physician (American Board / UK CCT)

About the role

A leading healthcare organization in Dubai is seeking an experienced Consultant Emergency Medicine Physician. The ideal candidate holds a recognized American Board Certification or UK CCT in Emergency Medicine and has strong experience managing a wide range of acute and emergency conditions in a high-volume emergency department.

Key responsibilities

• Provide consultant-level emergency care to adult and, where applicable, pediatric patients, assessing, diagnosing, stabilizing and treating acute and life-threatening conditions.
• Manage medical, surgical, traumatic and critical emergency presentations, and lead resuscitation and trauma management.
• Perform and supervise emergency procedures such as advanced airway management, CPR, procedural sedation, central and arterial lines, chest tubes, point-of-care ultrasound, wound management, fracture and dislocation care.
• Triage, stabilize, refer, admit and discharge patients, and coordinate with specialists, intensivists and surgeons.
• Take part in emergency protocols, ensure proper documentation, handover and follow-up, and promote patient safety.
• Join clinical audits, quality improvement, teaching, research and continuing medical education, and supervise and mentor junior staff where required.

Required profile

• MBBS, MD, MBChB or equivalent; American Board Certification in Emergency Medicine or UK CCT.
• Valid UAE professional license or eligibility for licensing in Dubai, with good professional standing.
• Consultant-level experience in Emergency Medicine, preferably in a high-volume department or tertiary-care hospital.
• Demonstrated expertise in resuscitation, trauma and acute medical emergencies; team leadership experience highly desirable.
• Strong leadership, communication, teamwork, teaching and mentoring skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
