Consultant Hematopathologist

About the role

The National Reference Laboratory (NRL) seeks a highly experienced Consultant Hematopathologist to deliver expert diagnostic services across a wide spectrum of hematological and lymphoid disorders within its reference laboratory network.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret and report complex hematopathology cases, including bone marrow biopsies, lymph node pathology, and peripheral blood disorders.
• Integrate morphology, immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry, cytogenetics, and molecular findings into comprehensive diagnostic reports.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team discussions and provide consultative support to clinicians.
• Ensure compliance with laboratory quality, accreditation, and patient safety standards.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, teaching, and mentoring of junior staff.

Required profile

• Medical degree with specialist certification in Hematopathology (e.g., CCT/CCST, American Board, or equivalent Tier 1 qualification).
• Eligibility for licensure with relevant UAE health authorities.
• Minimum 5‑7 years post‑specialization experience in hematopathology, preferably in a tertiary or reference laboratory.
• Strong analytical, communication, and reporting skills.
