Consultant ICU

About the role

A full-time, on-site Consultant ICU position in Abu Dhabi provides advanced clinical care to critically ill patients, covering assessment, diagnosis and management of complex medical conditions in the intensive care unit.

Key responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary rounds and prescribe and monitor treatments
• Supervise procedures and ensure adherence to evidence-based critical care protocols
• Collaborate closely with nursing teams and allied health professionals
• Communicate with patients' families about care plans
• Take part in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
• Train and mentor junior medical staff and help develop ICU care standards

Required profile

• Strong foundation in medicine with specialist training and experience in Critical Care Medicine
• Relevant medical degree (MD or equivalent) with recognized specialization in intensive care, or anesthesiology/medicine with an ICU focus
• Proven ICU experience, with strong clinical decision-making and emergency management skills
• Current professional license or eligibility for licensing in the UAE, complying with local regulations
• Competence in home care and elder care needs related to post-ICU continuity of care
• Willingness to engage in continuous professional development, clinical governance and quality improvement
