Consultant Interventional Radiologist

About the role

We are seeking a Consultant Interventional Radiologist to lead and deliver high‑quality, evidence‑based radiology services in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will manage patient care across inpatient and outpatient settings, supervise junior staff and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise delivery of evidence‑based interventional radiology care.
• Conduct patient examinations, obtain histories, order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe treatments and develop comprehensive plans.
• Oversee clinical activities of junior medical staff and provide instruction and guidance.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings to ensure holistic patient management.
• Provide on‑call coverage on a rotational basis, including evenings, nights, weekends and public holidays.
• Document clinical information accurately and comply with hospital, departmental and DOH policies.
• Engage in clinical audits, peer review and risk management to improve patient outcomes.
• Communicate clearly with patients and families, obtaining informed consent for procedures.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) with postgraduate qualification (MD, MS, DNB) and recognized specialty training.
• 3–7 years post‑specialty clinical experience in a multidisciplinary setting.
• Eligibility for, or a valid, Department of Health Abu Dhabi (DOH) license, including required primary source verification and DOH exam.
