Consultant Medical Oncologist

About the role

Stafmed is recruiting a highly experienced Consultant Medical Oncologist for a full‑time position with a leading hospital in the UAE. The role involves delivering comprehensive oncology care, developing individualized treatment plans, and applying evidence‑based cancer therapies.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis and management of patients with various cancers.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on cancer type, stage and patient‑specific factors.
• Administer and oversee systemic cancer treatments, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy and hormonal therapy.
• Monitor treatment response, manage side effects and provide ongoing follow‑up care.
• Collaborate with surgeons, radiation oncologists, radiologists, pathologists and other specialists for multidisciplinary cancer care.
• Participate in tumour board meetings, clinical audits and quality‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Board certification in Medical Oncology or an equivalent recognised qualification.
• Recognised Tier 1 qualification (e.g., ABMS, Canadian Royal College, UK CCT/CCST).
• Minimum 3–5 years of post‑specialisation experience in Medical Oncology.
• Eligibility for Consultant‑level licensing with DHA, DOH or MOHAP.

Required skills

• Extensive experience in Medical Oncology and cancer management.
• Strong knowledge of current cancer treatment protocols and evidence‑based practice.
• Expertise in systemic cancer therapies and management of treatment‑related complications.
• Excellent clinical decision‑making and patient management abilities.
• Strong communication and counselling skills for discussing complex diagnoses and treatment options.
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary oncology teams.
• Commitment to patient safety, clinical excellence and continuous quality improvement.
