Consultant – Obstetrics & Gynecology (Urogynecology)

About the role

Danat Al Emarat, a leading women’s and children’s hospital in Abu Dhabi, is seeking a senior Consultant in Obstetrics & Gynecology with a focus on urogynecology. The role involves delivering high‑quality clinical care across outpatient, inpatient and emergency settings while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of specialists.

Key responsibilities

• Provide consultant‑level obstetrics and gynecology services in all clinical settings.
• Diagnose and manage complex urogynecological and pelvic floor disorders, including urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse.
• Perform advanced urogynecologic and reconstructive pelvic surgeries such as prolapse repair, sling procedures, vaginal and laparoscopic reconstruction, and sacrocolpopexy.
• Conduct and interpret urodynamic studies and perform diagnostic and therapeutic cystoscopy.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient outcomes.
• Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement, teaching, research and departmental activities.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) recognised by the Abu Dhabi Department of Health.
• Completed accredited residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology.
• Fellowship or recognised subspecialty training in Urogynecology/Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery.
• Tier 1 qualification preferred (e.g., American Board Certification, CCT UK, Canadian Fellowship, Australian Fellowship, German Facharzt).
