Consultant Pediatric Emergency Physician (Abu Dhabi)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Consultant Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physician to join the Pediatric Emergency Department of a leading tertiary‑care hospital in Abu Dhabi. The role involves delivering timely, compassionate emergency care to infants, children and adolescents while providing clinical leadership and supporting education and research activities.

Key responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive emergency assessment and management of pediatric medical, surgical and trauma cases.
• Lead resuscitation efforts, including advanced airway management, vascular access and life‑saving interventions.
• Carry out emergency procedures such as lumbar puncture, fracture reduction and splinting, wound repair and procedural sedation.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary care with subspecialists, surgeons, intensivists and fellow emergency physicians.
• Contribute to departmental strategy, develop clinical pathways, and drive quality‑improvement initiatives.
• Mentor junior doctors, residents and nursing staff and participate in morbidity‑mortality reviews.
• Engage in teaching, clinical research and represent the department at conferences and community events.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MD/MBBS) from a recognized institution.
• Board certification in Pediatric Emergency Medicine, Pediatrics with PEM fellowship, or Emergency Medicine with pediatric specialization.
• 8–10 years of post‑specialisation experience, including consultant‑level practice.
• Fluency in English; Arabic is an advantage.
