Consultant Pediatric Hematologist / Oncologist

About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Consultant Pediatric Hematologist/Oncologist to join a leading healthcare organization in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will provide specialized diagnosis, treatment, and long‑term management for children and adolescents with hematologic disorders and pediatric cancers, working within a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage a broad range of pediatric hematologic and oncologic conditions, including leukemia, lymphoma, solid tumours, anemia and clotting disorders.
• Develop individualized treatment plans and oversee chemotherapy, immunotherapy, transfusion therapy and supportive care.
• Coordinate care with paediatricians, surgeons, radiologists, pathologists, pharmacists, nurses and allied health professionals.
• Monitor patient progress, adjust management plans, and provide counseling and emotional support to patients and families.
• Utilise advanced diagnostic tools and medical technologies, participate in tumour boards, clinical audits and quality‑improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with DOH regulations and contribute to teaching and mentoring junior staff.

Required profile

• Medical Degree (MBBS/MD) and specialty training in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology.
• One of the following recognised qualifications: UK CCT, US Board Certification, Canadian Board Certification, or DOH Abu Dhabi licence/eligibility.
• Minimum 5 years post‑board experience in pediatric hematology/oncology.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills, with a compassionate approach to paediatric patients and families.
• Fluency in English (Arabic is an advantage).
