Consultant – Pediatric Otolaryngology (ENT)

About the role

Black Pearl is recruiting on behalf of a well-established healthcare provider in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi for a Consultant in Pediatric Otolaryngology (ENT). The role provides advanced medical and surgical ENT care for children, including complex airway, otology, sleep and congenital disorders. The successful physician combines clinical judgment with compassionate communication, multidisciplinary teamwork and a strong commitment to quality and patient safety.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and manage pediatric airway, ear, hearing, sleep-disordered breathing, sinus, swallowing and congenital head-and-neck conditions.
• Perform pediatric ENT procedures within approved privileges, including complex airway and otologic work where competent.
• Provide emergency consultation and consultant on-call coverage.
• Collaborate with pulmonology, audiology, speech and language therapy, anesthesia, intensive care and surgical specialties.
• Maintain surgical outcomes and contribute to multidisciplinary clinics, audit, teaching, research and service development.
• Supervise junior medical staff, support multidisciplinary decision-making and communicate effectively with patients and families.
• Take part in clinical governance, incident review, quality improvement, credentialing, continuing professional development and departmental education.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and comply with infection prevention, medication safety, privacy and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Medical degree, recognized Otolaryngology/ENT specialty qualification and accredited Pediatric Otolaryngology fellowship or substantial formal pediatric ENT training; the award must be recognized under UAE Professional Qualification Requirements.
• Completed internship and active, unrestricted registration in the current or most recent country of practice.
• Tier 1 qualification and DOH Consultant-level experience with substantial recent pediatric ENT surgical practice.
• Eligible to obtain a Department of Health – Abu Dhabi Consultant licence for the applicable base specialty/title, with recent clinical activity and no unresolved licensing or standing concerns.
• Current BLS, ACLS and PALS certification, and a detailed pediatric airway and surgical logbook; complex airway, otology, sleep and congenital neck experience strongly preferred.
