Consultant Pediatric Otology - ENT

About the role

A renowned hospital in the UAE is recruiting a Consultant Pediatric Otology specialist through Black Pearl Consult. The role provides comprehensive otological care to paediatric patients, including diagnosis, treatment planning and surgical interventions. The position is based in Al Ain, Abu Dhabi.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations and diagnoses
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
• Perform a full range of otological surgical procedures, including cholesteatoma surgery, tympanoplasty with ossicular chain reconstruction, mastoidectomy, cochlear implants, stapedotomy/stapedectomy, BAHA and bone bridge implants, CSF otorrhoea repair, endolymphatic sac decompression for Meniere's disease, exostoses canaloplasty, facial nerve decompression/reconstruction, fistula repair and more
• Provide pre- and post-operative care, including patient education and counselling
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Participate in research and academic activities

Required profile

• MBBS/MB ChB or equivalent, with Tier 1 board certification (FRCPath or American, Canadian, Australian or South African board, or equivalent)
• Full registration as a consultant (or eligible to register within six months of interview)
• 5 years' experience in the same capacity
• Clinical and academic experience in a known university hospital
• Extensive experience in otological surgery
• Experience in teaching and mentoring residents and fellows

• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
• Advanced training in specific areas of otology, such as cochlear implants and balance disorders
