Consultant Pediatric Pulmonology

About the role

The Consultant Pediatric Pulmonology will lead the delivery of high‑quality, evidence‑based respiratory care for children at Al Dhafra Hospitals. This senior clinical position involves direct patient management, supervision of junior staff, and active participation in multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of pediatric pulmonary conditions in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Lead ward rounds, develop individualized care plans, and ensure accurate documentation.
• Supervise and train junior doctors, residents, and allied health professionals.
• Participate in on‑call rotation to deliver out‑of‑hours emergency care.
• Collaborate with other specialties and attend multidisciplinary meetings to coordinate holistic patient care.
• Engage in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and risk management activities.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) with postgraduate qualification (MD, MS, DNB) and board certification in pediatric pulmonology or related specialty.
• 3–7 years of post‑specialty clinical experience in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Eligibility for a valid Department of Health Abu Dhabi (DOH) licence, including successful primary source verification and, if required, the DOH exam.
• Current good standing certificate from the previous licensing authority.
