Consultant Psychiatrist – Geriatric Psychiatry (Abu Dhabi)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist with a Fellowship in Geriatric Psychiatry to join a leading healthcare organization in Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on delivering comprehensive psychiatric care to older adults, requiring Arabic language proficiency for effective communication.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow‑up for adult and geriatric patients, including management of dementia‑related behavioral symptoms.
• Develop individualized treatment plans using pharmacological and non‑pharmacological interventions and conduct risk assessments.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—physicians, psychologists, nurses, social workers, and allied health professionals.
• Offer consultation to other medical specialties on psychiatric and behavioral health concerns and maintain accurate clinical documentation.

Required profile

• Medical Degree (MBBS/MD or equivalent) with Board Certification/Specialist qualification in Psychiatry.
• Fellowship in Geriatric Psychiatry and significant experience managing complex psychiatric conditions in older adults.
• Arabic speaker (mandatory) and eligible for or holder of a DOH Abu Dhabi licence.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and multidisciplinary collaboration skills.
