Consultant – Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine

About the role

A leading private hospital in the UAE is seeking a Western‑qualified Consultant in Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine to deliver advanced care for patients with complex respiratory conditions and life‑threatening illnesses.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic respiratory diseases such as asthma, COPD, pneumonia, interstitial lung disease and respiratory failure.
• Assess and treat critically ill patients in the ICU, including management of mechanical and non‑invasive ventilation and complex airway conditions.
• Perform or supervise bronchoscopy and pleural procedures where trained.
• Lead sepsis, shock and other critical emergencies in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
• Develop individualized treatment plans, monitor progress, document clinically and contribute to audits and quality improvement.

Required profile

• Medical degree with recognized postgraduate specialist training in Pulmonary/Respiratory Medicine and Critical Care.
• Consultant‑level qualification such as UK CCT/CCST, US Board Certification, Canadian Royal College, Irish CSCST, Australian/New Zealand fellowship or equivalent.
• Extensive experience managing complex respiratory diseases and critically ill patients, preferably in a tertiary hospital or advanced ICU setting.
• Strong clinical judgement, leadership and multidisciplinary communication skills.
