Consultant / Specialist Pulmonologist – Respiratory & Lung Medicine

About the role

A leading multispecialty hospital in Dubai is expanding its Respiratory Medicine and Pulmonary Care services. The Consultant/Specialist Pulmonologist will deliver comprehensive care for acute and chronic respiratory diseases within a modern hospital environment.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage a wide range of respiratory conditions including asthma, COPD, interstitial lung disease, and complex pulmonary infections.
• Perform and interpret pulmonary function tests, spirometry, bronchoscopy and other diagnostic investigations.
• Manage sleep‑related breathing disorders and coordinate sleep study evaluations.
• Provide inpatient consultations for acute respiratory failure and collaborate with critical care, thoracic surgery and internal medicine teams.
• Develop personalised treatment plans, educate patients on smoking cessation and pulmonary rehabilitation, and participate in clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Board‑certified or specialist qualification in Pulmonology/Respiratory Medicine (e.g., ABIM, UK CCT, Arab Board, etc.).
• Minimum 3 years of post‑specialist experience in pulmonology.
• Eligibility for DOH/DHA/MOH licensing in the UAE.

Required skills

• Pulmonary function testing (PFTs) and spirometry.
• Bronchoscopy and related pulmonary procedures.
• Sleep study evaluation and management of obstructive sleep apnea.
