Corrosion Inspection Engineer

About the role

ADNOC Distribution is looking for an Inspector in Abu Dhabi to perform tasks related to the installation, testing and maintenance of corrosion control and monitoring systems, preventing internal and external corrosion of company facilities. The role covers inspection, testing and preventive protection of tanks, pipelines, vessels and other equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out corrosion monitoring and cathodic protection surveys and assess the findings.
• Maintain performance measures for the pipeline chemical treatment program.
• Coordinate with maintenance support services the planning and inspection of protective coating, insulation, fireproofing and refractory works.
• Prepare and run an inspection program for all tanks, pipelines, structures and pressure vessels to ensure integrity and safety.
• Run preventive, periodic corrosion protection programs on all company assets.
• Plan and carry out corrosion tests and special cathodic protection procedures to avoid breakdowns.
• Survey all plant equipment coatings and recommend corrective actions in line with the company's protective coating procedure.
• Ensure all corrosion work complies with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
• Work with equipment manufacturers and vendors so that corrosion-resistant materials and coatings are used in fabrication.

Required profile

• Diploma or higher diploma in Electrical, Chemical or Metallurgy.
• 5 years of experience in corrosion monitoring and cathodic protection, including six months of on-the-job training and familiarisation.
• Good knowledge of English and Arabic.
• Valid UAE driving licence.
• API certifications recommended.

Required skills

• Good PC skills and ability to use the required systems.
• Knowledge of corrosion monitoring, cathodic protection and coating inspection.
