Cost Accountant

About the role

The Cost Accountant will join the Plant Accounting team at ADM Abu Dhabi, supporting day‑to‑day costing and financial reporting within a JD Edwards (JDE) environment. Reporting to the Plant Controller, you will help maintain standard costs, analyse variances and ensure accurate inventory accounting.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and update standard costs across BOMs and routings in JDE.
• Support the annual cost roll process by preparing and validating cost component data.
• Assist with month‑end close activities, including work order closures, WIP reconciliation and balance‑sheet reviews.
• Analyse manufacturing variances such as Job Cost Variance (JCV) and Purchase Price Variance (PPV) and prepare summary reports for plant management.
• Coordinate physical inventory counts, cycle‑count programs and fixed‑asset verification.
• Collaborate with production, supply‑chain and finance teams to align costing assumptions and improve processes.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal financial policies, and support audit readiness.
