Cost Analyst

About the role

Emirates Flight Catering (EKFC) is looking for a Cost Analyst to manage day-to-day cost and manufacturing data analysis across its businesses. The role works with Production, Commercial and Supply Chain to drive efficiencies in production and procurement, and supports the Costing Manager with variance reporting and costing methodology.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze cost standards tracking systems, wastage and major cost drivers to highlight trends for stakeholders.
• Support the Costing Manager with proactive reporting on variances and trends, and communicate issues and opportunities to stakeholders.
• Evaluate historical data to build assumptions, methodologies and estimates, and recommend actions.
• Maintain the costing database in the relevant ERP and oversee the setup of the ERP cost system according to company policy.
• Analyze changes in products, menus, raw materials or production methods and their effect on cost.
• Perform cost benchmarking to support decisions on insourcing or outsourcing.
• Set up, monitor and reconcile landed cost rulings for food and packing foreign-related purchases.
• Collaborate with the Costing Manager on costing methodology, cost standards and KPI reporting, and carry out ad hoc tasks.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, commerce or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years' finance experience, preferably in production and/or manufacturing accounting, with at least 2 years in a similar capacity.
• Experience performing analytical tasks and preparing reports.
• Ability to work independently and in a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel and other MS Office applications.
• Advanced use of JDE ERP, or familiarity with another ERP system.
• Process improvement experience.
