Cyber Security Engineer (Emirati Talent)

About the role

Beacon Red is looking for a Cyber Security Engineer (Emirati Talent) to join the team at EDGE, an advanced technology group headquartered in the UAE and based in Abu Dhabi. The role supports and delivers the cyber security services Beacon Red provides across its offensive and defensive programmes, with problem solving at its core. Engineers are expected to show strong ownership and initiative, driving work independently from scoping through to delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Operate in both internal and customer-facing capacities, building trusted relationships with stakeholders
• Lead or independently deliver components of penetration testing and red teaming activities
• Contribute to investigations and incident response, applying offensive insight to defensive problems
• Conduct and contribute to security assessments, identifying systemic risk as well as isolated findings
• Maintain ongoing training and skill development to keep pace with emerging threats and techniques
• Write and present clear technical reports to both technical and executive audiences

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or a related field
• Relevant industry certifications such as OSCP, OSEP or GPEN (preferred or required depending on the team's standard)
• English proficiency is required for all roles

Required skills

• Solid understanding of operating systems and file systems, networking fundamentals, web applications and related technologies
• Intermediate knowledge of security topics and pen-testing techniques and methodology
• Understanding of investigative techniques and incident response methodology
• Preferred: offensive security tooling such as Burp Suite, Metasploit, Cobalt Strike, BloodHound, Impacket and Nmap
• Preferred: scripting and automation in at least one language such as Python, PowerShell or Bash
