Data Engineer – 12‑month extendable contract in Abu Dhabi

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join our growing data and analytics team in Abu Dhabi. You will design, develop and optimise modern data platforms that enable advanced analytics, business intelligence and machine learning across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes for large‑scale datasets.
• Build and optimise data processing frameworks using Spark, Delta Lake, Kafka and other big‑data technologies.
• Create and manage data models, schemas, data lakes, lakehouses and data warehouses to support reporting and analytics.
• Implement data quality, validation, monitoring and observability to ensure reliability.
• Develop real‑time and batch processing solutions with streaming and distributed systems.
• Ensure security, privacy and regulatory compliance for sensitive data.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, architects and business stakeholders to deliver high‑value data products.
• Maintain and enhance distributed data platforms for scalability, availability and performance.
• Contribute to data‑governance, master data management, metadata management and data‑catalog initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience designing, building and operating enterprise‑scale data platforms and pipelines.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
