Data Engineer (Abu Dhabi)

About the role

A hands-on Data Engineer is sought for a technology and data opportunity in Abu Dhabi. The role strengthens the flow of data across systems while supporting the quality and reliability of the wider data environment.

Key responsibilities

• Keep critical data flows reliable by monitoring integrations, investigating interruptions and resolving issues affecting availability, freshness or accuracy of data.
• Work with technical and business teams to bring new data sources into the environment, turning source structures and requirements into stable integration solutions.
• Improve the quality of incoming data through validation, testing, reconciliation and analysis before it is used downstream.
• Help design and maintain data models that support analytical and operational needs.
• Build and improve automated data pipelines using ETL/ELT methods, SQL, Python, APIs, database connectivity and secure transfer mechanisms.
• Improve deployment processes, maintain technical documentation and apply data security and access practices.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in data engineering, data integration, backend data processing or a related technical discipline.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering or a related field; exposure to analytics, big data or complex multi-source environments is beneficial.

Required skills

• Hands-on SQL and Python, with experience building or supporting data pipelines and integration workflows.
• Understanding of ETL/ELT, APIs, database interfaces, secure file exchange and cross-system data integration.
• Experience with data models, validation rules, quality controls and troubleshooting data issues.
• Familiarity with automated testing and deployment, and basic networking and security considerations for system-to-system data exchange.
