Data Engineer - Intern

About the role

Join Bayut & dubizzle as a Data Engineer Intern and work on end‑to‑end data projects, from raw data ingestion to advanced visualisation. You will gain hands‑on experience building batch and real‑time pipelines in a modern cloud‑based data warehouse alongside a diverse team.

Key responsibilities

• Integrate raw data from primary and third‑party systems into the data platform.
• Model data warehouses for operational and application layers using dimensional techniques.
• Develop and optimise SQL queries in Amazon Redshift clusters.
• Design and implement ETL workflows with Matillion.
• Create data products that enable data‑driven features for product, marketing, finance and other teams.
• Maintain data quality, system stability and security standards.
• Build dashboards and advanced visualisations in Periscope Data with a focus on usability.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or a related quantitative field.
• Understanding of relational and dimensional data models.
• Familiarity with Linux terminal operations and workflows.
• Ability to communicate insights to non‑technical audiences.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.
• Entrepreneurial mindset, self‑motivation and a drive for continuous learning.
