Data Engineer

About the role

RAKBANK is modernising its data landscape to enable faster, data‑driven decisions across the organisation. The Data Engineer will join the Data & Analytics team to design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines on the Databricks Lakehouse platform.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and deploy batch, streaming and near‑real‑time data pipelines using Databricks, Delta Lake and Azure Data Factory.
• Maintain curated datasets, data models and medallion architecture to support BI, analytics, regulatory reporting and AI use cases.
• Implement data quality controls, monitoring, automated testing and reconciliation processes.
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root‑cause analysis and continuously improve platform reliability.
• Collaborate with architects, analysts, governance teams and business stakeholders in an Agile environment.

Required profile

• 3‑7 years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering or software engineering.
• Strong hands‑on experience with SQL, Python, PySpark and Spark SQL.
• Experience with Databricks, Delta Lake, Databricks Workflows and Databricks SQL.
• Knowledge of Azure Data Factory, dbt, CDC frameworks and streaming technologies such as Kafka/Confluent.
• Understanding of dimensional modelling, data quality frameworks and data governance principles.
