Data Governance Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Data Governance Engineer to design, implement and automate enterprise data‑governance capabilities on modern cloud platforms for a client in Dubai.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement data‑governance solutions using Microsoft Purview, Collibra, Alation or Informatica.
• Develop and maintain data catalog, metadata management and data lineage capabilities.
• Implement data‑quality engineering using tools such as Soda, Great Expectations or Collibra DQ.
• Embed governance controls into ETL/ELT pipelines and cloud data platforms.
• Manage data classification, access controls and stewardship workflows.
• Automate governance processes and integrate them with CI/CD pipelines.

Required profile

• Hands‑on implementation experience with Microsoft Purview, Collibra, Alation or Informatica.
• Strong SQL and Python scripting skills.
• Experience working in Azure, AWS or GCP environments.
• Proven ability to embed governance controls into data pipelines.
• Familiarity with data classification, access controls and stewardship workflows.
