Data Privacy Senior Manager

About the role

The Senior Manager – Data Privacy Governance will lead ADIB’s privacy governance pillar, designing and continuously improving the bank’s privacy framework to ensure compliance with UAE PDPL, CBUAE regulations and other applicable standards.

Key responsibilities

• Own and maintain the Data Privacy Framework, policies, standards, SOPs and supporting templates with version control and periodic reviews.
• Oversee the Record of Processing Activities (RoPA) program, ensuring accurate onboarding, quality review and refresh across all jurisdictions.
• Govern privacy risk management, DPIAs, international data transfer assessments and report KPIs/KRIs to senior committees.
• Manage data subject rights, consent mechanisms and privacy notices in English and Arabic across all channels.
• Lead third‑party privacy due diligence, ensuring Data Processing Agreements and transfer safeguards are in place.
• Support breach management, act as point of contact for auditors and regulators, and coordinate remediation plans.
• Design and deliver privacy awareness training and coach privacy analysts and business unit champions.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience in data protection, privacy governance or regulatory compliance, with at least 3 years in a senior managerial role.
• Experience in banking or highly regulated financial services, preferably in the UAE or GCC.
• Proven track record of building enterprise privacy programmes covering RoPA, DPIA, data‑subject rights, breach management and third‑party governance.
• Professional certification such as CIPP/E, CIPM, CDPO, CISA or equivalent is preferred.

Required skills

• Expert knowledge of UAE Personal Data Protection Law (Federal Decree‑Law No. 45 of 2021) and CBUAE Consumer Protection Regulation.
• Practical experience with privacy management platforms (OneTrust) and GRC tools (Archer).
• Strong drafting ability in English; Arabic knowledge is an advantage.
