Data Scientist

About the role

Masdar is seeking a Data Scientist to support the development of analytics, AI, and data products within its AI Products & Analytics Technology Centre of Excellence. The role will involve working on data preparation, model building, and delivering insights to inform operational and strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Perform data preparation, cleaning, and exploratory data analysis.
• Develop analytical models and data pipelines for key use cases.
• Assist in implementing machine learning, statistical, and optimization models under senior guidance.
• Translate analytical outputs into clear visualisations, reports and data‑driven recommendations.
• Contribute to dashboards and BI tools to enhance performance visibility and forecasting.
• Support AI model development, testing, documentation and code reviews.
• Maintain reproducible, well‑documented codebases and ensure data integrity.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across operations, digital and strategy teams to understand data needs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering or related field.
• UAE National (National Talent programme) preferred.
• 1–3 years of experience in data science, analytics or related fields (including internships).
• Exposure to energy, utilities or financial analytics is advantageous.
• Strong foundation in statistics, linear algebra and data analysis.
• Analytical thinking, curiosity and ability to take direction and incorporate feedback.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Experience with data analysis libraries such as Pandas and NumPy.
• Familiarity with visualisation tools like Power BI, Tableau and Matplotlib.
• Basic knowledge of machine learning concepts and frameworks.
• Understanding of data pipelines, data wrangling techniques and reproducible code practices.
• Exposure to cloud platforms or big‑data tools is a plus.
