About the role

The American University in the Emirates is seeking a senior academic leader to serve as Dean of the College of Health Sciences. This position provides strategic, academic, and administrative direction for the college, ensuring excellence in teaching, research, and community partnership.

Key responsibilities

• Lead strategic planning and implementation for the college.
• Maintain and enhance academic quality, accreditation status, and curriculum development.
• Oversee faculty recruitment, development, and performance management.
• Promote student success, research initiatives, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Build and sustain partnerships with healthcare organizations, government agencies, and industry stakeholders.
• Manage the college’s financial resources, budgeting, and fundraising activities.

Required profile

• Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree in Health Sciences, Public Health, Nursing, Allied Health, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of five years of academic leadership experience at the associate dean level or higher in an accredited university.
• Demonstrated record of teaching, research, and service in health sciences.
• Experience engaging with healthcare institutions, regulatory bodies, and government agencies.
• Strong leadership, communication, and decision‑making abilities.
