About the role

The College of Communication & Media Sciences at Zayed University seeks an experienced academic leader to serve as Dean. This senior position offers the opportunity to shape the strategic direction of one of the university’s founding colleges, which holds international accreditation from the International Advertising Association.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the College in implementing long‑term strategies aligned with ACEJMC standards and curriculum guidelines.
• Advance the College’s research agenda, increase productivity, and foster scholarly output.
• Oversee budgeting, fiscal management, and resource allocation.
• Expand outreach, community engagement, entrepreneurship, and innovative initiatives.
• Collaborate with Student Affairs to maintain a positive learning environment and uphold academic integrity.
• Establish academic partnerships with local schools, UAE institutions, and leading international universities.
• Build and nurture alumni and stakeholder relations.

Required profile

• PhD in mass communication or a closely related discipline (or equivalent professional experience).
• Full‑professor rank at previous institution.
• Minimum three years of successful administrative leadership at the Dean, Associate Dean, or Assistant Dean level in an ACEJMC‑accredited university.
• At least five years of full‑time university teaching experience recognized by the UAE Ministry of Higher Education.
• Proven ability to develop new programs meeting international standards and to lead diverse, multicultural faculty.
