Demi Chef de Partie - Japanese Kitchen

About the role

YUBI, launched in Dubai in 2025 in partnership with acclaimed Chef Reif Othman, is the UAE's first homegrown handroll bar, serving Japanese cuisine made to order. The Demi Chef de Partie assists the Chef de Partie in preparing, cooking and presenting dishes in an assigned kitchen section, keeping quality and hygiene standards high and helping supervise Commis chefs.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients, sauces, garnishes and other menu components according to recipes and standards, on time and accurately.
• Cook and present dishes to brand and menu specifications, keeping flavour, portioning and plating consistent.
• Assist the Chef de Partie in managing the section, keeping it ready for service, clean and compliant with kitchen standards, and take charge of the section in their absence.
• Guide and support Commis chefs, giving training and feedback on cooking techniques and food handling.
• Ensure all food meets quality, taste and presentation standards and report any deviations to senior chefs immediately.

Required profile

• Diploma or certificate in Culinary Arts or a related field.
• Minimum 2-4 years of culinary experience, including at least 1 year as a Commis or Demi Chef de Partie in a reputable restaurant or hotel.
• Strong technical knowledge of cooking techniques, preparation and kitchen operations, especially with Japanese cuisine.
• Understanding of HACCP principles and food safety procedures.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
