Demi Chef – Seafood Market

About the role

The Demi Chef supports the Seafood Market kitchen by preparing ingredients, cooking dishes, and maintaining a clean, safe work environment. This full‑time position reports to the kitchen supervisor and follows Le Méridien’s quality and service standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients – portion, chop, wash, peel, weigh, measure and mix according to recipes.
• Cook and assemble dishes using ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers, ensuring proper temperature and presentation.
• Monitor food quality, test doneness, and adhere to food safety and hygiene protocols.
• Set up and break down work stations, serve food in correct portions, and maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, tools and equipment.
• Check appliance and food temperatures, report maintenance needs, accidents or unsafe conditions, and complete required safety training.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least 1 year of related food‑service experience.
• Ability to stand, walk or sit for extended periods and lift objects up to 25 lb.
• Professional appearance, confidentiality, and ability to communicate clearly.
• Commitment to teamwork, quality standards and company policies.
