Design Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Design Manager to lead our studio’s design department, coordinating across design, production, sales, marketing and administration teams. The role ensures seamless communication, aligns projects with client expectations and strategic objectives, and drives growth through high‑quality design delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Own the end‑to‑end design process from client brief to final handover, ensuring alignment with project goals and budgets.
• Manage projects from concept through delivery, producing presentations and overseeing FF&E procurement and material selection.
• Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure cost‑effective, high‑quality solutions.
• Conduct site visits to verify accurate design implementation.
• Attend client meetings and act as the primary point of contact for issue resolution.
• Provide mentorship, guidance and development opportunities for senior and junior designers.
• Organise regular team feedback sessions to foster collaboration and creativity.
• Support the Studio Director with technical issue resolution, space‑planning reviews and meeting participation.
• Review daily work of the production team (visualizers/drafters) and identify efficiency improvements.
• Track team KPIs, focusing on deliverable accuracy, revision counts, speed and work ethic.
• Plan and lead workshops to enhance production quality and efficiency.

• Proven experience leading design teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously.

• Client‑facing experience with the ability to address concerns and maintain satisfaction.

• Detail‑oriented approach to ensure design quality, budget adherence and timely delivery.
