Design Specialist – Storage Solutions

About the role

The Design Specialist – Storage Solutions leads drafting and design activities for storage tanks, vessels, piping spools and related products. The role converts engineering inputs, customer requirements and manufacturing constraints into accurate AutoCAD 2D drawings and 3D CAD models.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day drafting and design work for storage‑solution projects and guide drafters to produce accurate deliverables.
• Prepare general‑arrangement, fabrication, nozzle‑orientation, piping spool and detail drawings, as well as 2D and 3D models.
• Review customer specifications, datasheets, P&IDs, calculations and vendor information before starting design work.
• Assign and prioritize drafting tasks, monitor progress, and provide status updates to the Engineering Supervisor.
• Check and approve drawings, models, bills of material and revisions for accuracy, manufacturability and compliance.

Required profile

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, Drafting or equivalent.
• Minimum 8 years of mechanical/product drafting and design experience with tanks, vessels, piping or spools.
• At least 5 years of experience checking drawings and leading drafters/designers.
• Hands‑on proficiency with AutoCAD 2D and 3D, Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks.
