Desktop Support Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Desktop Support Engineer to join our client’s IT team in Abu Dhabi. You will be responsible for delivering end‑user support across the organization, ensuring workstations and peripherals operate smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, diagnose, repair and upgrade PCs, laptops, printers, scanners, IP phones and mobile devices.
• Provide on‑site and remote technical assistance via tickets, phone or face‑to‑face.
• Maintain hardware and software inventory using SCCM, Lansweeper or similar tools.
• Escalate complex issues to senior teams while ensuring timely resolution.
• Support Windows (7‑11) and macOS environments, including OS patches and updates.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of experience in desktop or end‑user support.
• Strong knowledge of PC hardware, peripherals and networking basics.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent time‑management, prioritisation and communication skills.
• Professional attitude under pressure and adherence to SOPs.

Required skills

• Windows 7/8/10/11, Windows Server 2012/2016/2019.
• macOS support (latest versions).
• Active Directory, Exchange Online, Office 365 administration.
• Microsoft Endpoint Manager / Intune.
• SCCM, Lansweeper, ManageEngine Desktop Central.
• Mobile device management for iOS and Android (Intune, ManageEngine).
• Remote support tools (ME Desktop Central, SCCM).
• ITSM platforms (ServiceNow, ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus, Remedy).
• Virtualisation (VMware Horizon, Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops).
• Scripting basics (PowerShell, Bash).
• Cloud services (Microsoft 365, Azure AD, Google Workspace).
