Director Financial Planning and Business Partner

About the role

The Director of Financial Planning and Business Partner will lead the budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes, ensuring they are tightly aligned with the organisation's strategic objectives. This senior finance leader will act as a trusted advisor to senior management, providing insight, risk analysis and recommendations to drive business performance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate budgeting, forecasting and financial planning cycles.
• Identify risks, gaps and opportunities in financial plans and recommend corrective actions.
• Provide strategic financial guidance on budgets, forecasts, investments and business plans to senior leadership.
• Monitor financial performance against plans and drive initiatives to improve outcomes.
• Analyse financial and operational performance against targets and strategic objectives.
• Review and approve business cases, investment proposals, pricing initiatives and capital expenditure requests.
• Prepare and present management reports, financial analyses and performance insights.
• Drive cost‑optimization and value‑creation initiatives across the organisation.
• Act as the primary finance business partner for business leaders, advising on variances, risks and opportunities.
• Lead, coach and develop a high‑performing finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with financial policies, accounting standards and internal controls.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading finance planning, budgeting and forecasting functions.
• Strong track record of providing strategic financial advice to senior executives.
• Demonstrated ability to manage and develop finance teams.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence business decisions.
• Experience overseeing capital expenditure and investment governance.
