Director - Fleet Maintenance

About the role

The Director of Fleet Maintenance will lead the Marine Technical Department, ensuring customer‑oriented, cost‑effective operations and the highest standards of asset maintenance across Abu Dhabi ports. This senior position supports the Abu Dhabi 2030 vision by developing marine services and driving sustainable economic growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and oversee marine services in ports and logistics hubs, aligning with Abu Dhabi’s strategic vision.
• Ensure compliance with federal, emirate, and departmental regulations and international shipping conventions.
• Monitor performance of marine service providers, identify weaknesses, and implement corrective actions.
• Implement international benchmarking and manage Service Level Agreements with corporate divisions.
• Drive financial performance and revenue generation from marine services.
• Represent AD Ports at board meetings, national and international forums, and promote the organization’s standards.
• Manage technical departments, optimize operational efficiency, and align staffing with budgetary commitments.
• Develop business strategy, negotiate concessions and joint‑venture agreements, and ensure future income generation aligns with investments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a marine technical field.
• Minimum 5 years of senior managerial experience in the maritime, ports, or logistics sector.
• Strong results orientation, commercial focus, and high‑level political negotiation skills.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
