Director, Medical Affairs – Gastroenterology & Rheumatology (Gulf)

About the role

The Director of Medical Affairs will lead the Gulf Medical Affairs organization for gastroenterology and rheumatology, shaping strategic and tactical medical planning, and acting as the scientific liaison with health authorities, payers and the medical community.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute medical strategies that support brand commercialization, including pricing, reimbursement and access activities.
• Lead scientific data dissemination through conferences, advisory boards, publications and educational programs.
• Provide medical expertise for regulatory labeling, clinical trial design, and support of Phase 3b/4 studies.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with brand, clinical, real‑world evidence and market access teams to meet customer and business needs.

Required profile

• Medical Doctor degree (preferred) with at least 6 years of clinical or therapeutic experience in gastroenterology, rheumatology or broader immunology.
• Fluent in English; Arabic fluency is a strong plus.
• Proven leadership across geographies, strong project‑management and negotiation skills.
• Experience interacting with Gulf health authorities, payers and regulatory bodies.

Required skills

• Knowledge of drug development, regulatory and market‑access processes in the Gulf region.
• Ability to interpret scientific data and create compliant communication materials.
• Strong presentation and scientific writing capabilities.
