Director of Business Intelligence & Analytics

About the role

You will be Soar’s hands‑on leader for business intelligence and analytics, responsible for shaping the function and delivering actionable insights across UX, credit, collections, investment and operations.

Key responsibilities

• Set priorities, own the BI & analytics roadmap and deliver critical projects from question to adoption.
• Design and maintain the semantic layer, event taxonomy and metric definitions on Snowflake using dbt.
• Write SQL, investigate performance, test hypotheses and turn findings into clear recommendations.
• Develop executive and departmental dashboards, measure adoption and retire low‑value reports.
• Define KPIs with leaders, resolve conflicting definitions and maintain a business glossary.
• Curate semantic models for AI agents, build a golden‑question evaluation set and improve agent accuracy.
• Build sessionisation, funnel and cohort models linking product behavior to outcomes.
• Implement governance: PII masking, row‑level access policies and auditability.
• Identify data quality gaps, define requirements and work with architecture on data contracts.
• Establish testing, documentation, version control and review practices; hire and mentor analysts as needed.

Required profile

• 8+ years in BI, analytics engineering or related data roles with cross‑functional ownership.
• Hands‑on experience delivering dashboards, writing complex SQL and building data models.
• Strong business acumen, comfortable discussing credit, collections, lending or investment topics.
• Experience with LLM‑based analytics, text‑to‑SQL and evaluating model outputs.
• Proven ability to set technical standards, mentor others and maintain direct delivery ownership.
