Director of Commercial – Lead Go-to-Market & Sales

About the role

AI71, a leading artificial intelligence company, is looking for a Director of Commercial to own the end‑to‑end commercial function for its Ask platform. Based in Abu Dhabi, you will shape the go‑to‑market strategy, drive sales, and build commercial partnerships across regulated‑enterprise and sovereign markets in the UAE, Morocco and other priority regions.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the commercial strategy and go‑to‑market plan for Ask, targeting regulated and government buyers.
• Translate Ask’s agentic AI capabilities into compelling offers, pricing models, and sales plays.
• Partner with product teams to select lighthouse accounts that strengthen the product and generate reference cases.
• Build and manage a commercial engine, including pipeline discipline, incentive structures, and a high‑performing sales organization.
• Lead deal structuring, bid management, and contract negotiations with ministries, banks, and large enterprises.
• Provide market and client insights to inform product roadmap and packaging.
• Hand over signed deals to deployment teams for seamless delivery.

Required profile

• Minimum 12 years of senior commercial experience, preferably in AI, technology, or regulated‑enterprise environments.
• Proven track record of building and scaling commercial functions from scratch.
• Strong strategic thinking with the ability to balance growth ambitions and operational capacity.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, able to engage with government procurement offices, risk committees, and internal product teams.
