Director of Compliance

About the role

We are looking for an experienced, strategic, and detail‑oriented Director of Compliance to lead our compliance framework, regulatory programs, risk management and governance activities across the United Arab Emirates. The role works closely with senior leadership, legal, finance, operations, risk and business teams to ensure strong compliance standards and effective management of regulatory risks.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the overall compliance strategy and framework.
• Establish and maintain comprehensive compliance policies, procedures and controls.
• Monitor regulatory and legislative developments and assess their impact.
• Conduct compliance risk assessments and design mitigation strategies.
• Oversee compliance monitoring, testing, reporting and internal reviews.
• Lead investigations, remediation activities and internal audits.
• Provide senior management with advice on regulatory and compliance matters.
• Prepare regular compliance reports, dashboards and presentations for leadership.
• Support anti‑money‑laundering, sanctions, anti‑bribery, data‑protection and related programs.
• Coordinate with regulators, external advisors, auditors and other stakeholders.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of compliance principles, regulatory frameworks and corporate governance.
• Proven experience leading compliance programs or functions at senior level.
• Excellent analytical, investigative and risk‑assessment capabilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively across legal, finance, HR, operations, IT and risk teams.
• Experience preparing compliance reports and presenting to senior leadership.
