Director of Engineering

About the role

The Director of Engineering will lead all engineering operations and projects for JW Marriott Marquis Hotel Dubai, overseeing a full‑scale renovation and ensuring safety, security, and asset protection across the property.

Key responsibilities

• Manage plant systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and refrigeration.
• Administer service contracts, utilities, and expense control.
• Develop and execute engineering strategies, preventative maintenance, and energy‑conservation programs.
• Lead the emergency response team and ensure compliance with fire and life‑safety regulations.
• Oversee budgeting, capital‑expenditure projects, and profitability of the engineering department.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar engineering leadership role within a five‑star hotel or equivalent.
• Degree in Engineering or a related field.
• Strong leadership, customer focus, and ability to motivate teams.
• Proven project‑management and stakeholder‑relationship experience.
