Director of Human Resources – Pre-Opening Luxury Hotel

About the role

We are looking for a senior HR leader to build the people strategy for the pre‑opening of Gran Meliá Dubai Jumeirah, a new luxury hotel slated to open in 2027. Reporting to the General Manager and Executive Committee, you will shape the cultural foundation and drive talent acquisition, development and retention from day one.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement the HR strategy for the pre‑opening phase and transition to full operations, aligned with brand standards and business objectives.
• Establish HR structures, policies, governance and compliance with UAE labour legislation and corporate guidelines.
• Act as a strategic business partner to the General Manager and Executive Committee, advising on workforce planning and organisational design.
• Lead end‑to‑end talent acquisition, building a team of “Very Inspiring People” (VIPs) across all hotel functions.
• Develop and embed a culture that reflects Meliá’s core values of excellence, respect and belonging.
• Oversee employee relations, performance management, learning and development, and compensation programmes.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an HR Director or senior HR leader in luxury hospitality, preferably with pre‑opening projects.
• Deep understanding of UAE employment law and international HR best practices.
• Strong strategic thinking, leadership and change‑management capabilities.
• Track record of attracting, developing and retaining high‑performing teams.
